Let me win
but, if I cannot win
let me be brave in the attempt
Welcome To The Special Olympics Oklahoma Capitol Area Webpage
Art/Music & Dance a Success
On Thursday, March 1 at Western Heights High School the Capitol Area was excited to have its first annual Art / Music and Dance Festival and what a big success it was.  There were 30 pieces of art submitted and 11 Music and Dance presentations that were all fantastic!

The Art Competition allows Special Olympic participants to submit their art pieces for display and judging.  Artwork categories include painting, drawing, pottery, sewing, photography among others, and beginner, intermediate and advanced divisions are offered.

The Music Competition allows participants to enter in vocal, dance and instrumental categories. The festival-style event is designed to allow each Special Olympics performer to showcase his or her talents in front of an audience of peers, family members and the general public.

The Capitol Area could never host these events without help so, we need to say Thank You to the following:

Elizabeth Bley

Western Heights High School and volunteers

This was a great event and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
